South Effingham has won seven straight games at home, while Effingham County has won seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much  on Monday. The South Effingham Mustangs will host the Effingham County Rebels  at 6:00  p.m. The last three games South Effingham has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between South Effingham and Glynn Academy, and South Effingham kept the tradition alive. South Effingham skirted past Glynn Academy  6-5.
Meanwhile, Effingham County got themselves on the board against Savannah Country Day on Saturday, but Savannah Country Day never followed suit. They blew past the Hornets 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won five games by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
 Kaleb Pendley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He  tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3. What's more,  he posted two  doubles, the most he's  had  over his last 11  matchups.
 In other pitching news,  Luke Edwards looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. What's more,  he gave up only zero  walks, the fewest he's  had since back in March of 2024.
 Back at the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Caleb Swindle, who  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  home run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Newton Kieffer, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
 Effingham County  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Savannah Country Day only posted  an  OBP of  .222.
 South Effingham's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Effingham County, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
 South Effingham took their  victory against Effingham County  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  9-0. Does  South Effingham have another victory up their sleeve, or will Effingham County turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
