Basketball Recap: Centre Comes Up Short

Centre lost against Goessel back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Centre Cougars were dealt a 45-12 defeat at the hands of the Goessel Bluebirds. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Centre still got an impressive performance from Olivia Carlson, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. That was a full 75% of Centre's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Centre dropped their record down to 1-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Goessel, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Centre didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-8 defeat against Little River on the 7th. As for Goessel, they have also already played their next game, a 34-19 victory against Wakefield on the 7th.
