La Quinta won the last time they faced Desert Hot Springs and Roman Ansley did his part to make sure it happened again. The Blackhawks skirted past the Golden Eagles 56-53 for which the team can thank Ansley, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards. La Quinta is 2-1 when Ansley posts eight or more rebounds, but 2-4 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Landin, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 13 points and six boards. He also posted a block, marking his first of the season.

The win made it two in a row for La Quinta and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Desert Hot Springs, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2.

La Quinta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-53 win against Indio on the 9th. As for Desert Hot Springs, they have also already played their next game, a 77-29 loss against Hemet on the 11th.
