Soccer Game Preview: Union Pines vs. Dixon

The Union Pines Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Dixon Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Union Pines comes in on 13 and Dixon on 18.

Union Pines is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Carrboro a 1-0 shutout. Union Pines' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matches.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Dixon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They beat Hunt by a goal, winning 1-0. Dixon's winning goal came courtesy of Tiana Greene.

Union Pines pushed their record up to 20-3-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 13 games. As for Dixon, their win bumped their record up to 18-2-1.
