Basketball Recap: Wayside: Sci-Tech Comes Up Short

Wayside: Sci-Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the IDEA Bluff Springs Bats and fell 39-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ravens of the 51-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

It was another big night for Samantha Saucedo-Palencia, who went 11 of 22 on her way to 26 points for IDEA Bluff Springs. The matchup was Saucedo-Palencia's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Je'Nise Solano, who posted nine points.

Wayside: Sci-Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for IDEA Bluff Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Valor South Austin the next time they take the court. IDEA Bluff Springs will host Valor South Austin at 6:45 p.m. on January 17th, while Wayside: Sci-Tech will host them at 6:45 p.m. on January 24th.
