Baseball Recap: Martin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cigarroa last Friday, Martin came back down to earth. Martin fell just short of the Rio Grande City Rattlers by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 12, 2024.

Martin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Omar Garza, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Martin moved to 10-5-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Rio Grande City, their record is now 7-8.

While Martin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
