Volleyball Recap: Nickerson Panthers vs. Pratt Greenbacks
Nickerson was the 2-0 winner over Pratt when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Nickerson Panthers fell just short of the Pratt Greenbacks by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nickerson actually scored more points across those three sets (68-65), but sadly they still had to settle for second. After all that action, the final score was 15-25, 25-22, 25-21.
Pratt can attribute much of their success to Rielyn Fleming, who had nine digs.
Nickerson's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Pratt, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
After both having extra time off, Nickerson and Hillsboro will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillsboro is coming into the match with three straight wins on the road, so Nickerson will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Pratt, they will challenge Hays on Thursday.
