Basketball Recap: Hanahan Comes Up Short

Hanahan had taken Academic Magnet down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Hawks were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to the Raptors. The Hawks just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Hanahan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Quamel Grant, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Lassiter, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 19 points.

Hanahan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Academic Magnet, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Hanahan and Academic Magnet will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Hawks will face off against rival North Charleston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Academic Magnet is set to square off against their familiar foe Andrews at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
