Baseball Recap: El Capitan Drops Highest Score of Season Against Buhach Colony

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Capitan). They blew past the Buhach Colony Thunder 17-3 on Monday. The Gauchos haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Benny Centeno tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. El Capitan is 3-1 when Centeno allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Cooper Gaoiran was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Angel Rivera also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

El Capitan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

El Capitan's record is now 5-6. As for Buhach Colony, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: El Capitan beat Buhach Colony by a score of 15-3 on Wednesday.
