Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Broncos vs. Altavista Colonels

The Franklin Broncos will challenge the Altavista Colonels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Franklin's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Altavista has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.

Franklin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They skirted past Brunswick 32-29. The 32-point effort marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Altavista posted their closest victory since January 24th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out William Campbell 63-61. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Franklin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points over those games. Altavista's victory bumped their record up to 12-13.

Franklin came up short against Altavista when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 76-70. Can Franklin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
