Preview: North Forney Falcons vs. Royse City Bulldogs
The North Forney Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Royse City Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Forney is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
North Forney pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 81-57 loss at the hands of Horn. While losing is never fun, North Forney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Horn is ranked 81st).
Kei'von Johnson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Nick Marshall was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Royse City had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 71-63 victory over Horn on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
North Forney has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-20 record this season. As for Royse City, the victory got them back to even at 15-15.
North Forney came up short against Royse City in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-49. Can North Forney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
