Baseball Recap: Island Coast Wins Going Away Against North Port

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fort Myers, Island Coast was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the North Port Bobcats as the Island Coast Gators made off with an 8-0 victory. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Ryan Mueller's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jayven Torres, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Logan Hawkins, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Island Coast's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for North Port, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Island Coast didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Charlotte on the 11th. As for North Port, they have also already played their next contest, a 15-1 loss against Sarasota on the 11th.
