Softball Recap: East Wake Comes Up Short

East Wake lost against South Johnston back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one run.

Madison Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for East Wake and nudges their season record down to 11-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for South Johnston, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. East Wake is set to take on their familiar foe Fike at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Johnston will square off against rival Hunt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
