Baseball Recap: Springfield Cougars vs. Ridley Raiders        
        
		
            
 Springfield's game  last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Wednesday. They blew past the Ridley Raiders 9-3. This was payback for Springfield, who suffered  a  7-2  defeat the last time these two teams met.
  Jake Adams made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing seven innings while giving up  three earned runs off   six  hits. Adams was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Michael Turner was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Vinny Valerio, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
 On Ridley's side, they got a good showing from  Jake Mansfield, who   didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  Danny Stickney made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run.
 Springfield is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record  this season. As for Ridley, their loss was  their fourth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 3-7-1.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield will  take on Garnet Valley at 3:45  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Ridley, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Upper Darby at 3:45  p.m.  on Thursday. Ridley is facing Upper Darby at the right time seeing as Upper Darby is stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak.
