Soccer Game Preview: Green Run vs. First Colonial

Green Run hasn't had much luck against First Colonial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Stallions are taking a road trip to take on the Patriots at 5:15 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

First Colonial better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Green Run's game on Monday is any indication, that's when Green Run really gets things going. The Stallions never let Norview get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Green Run better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Brooklyn Howard, as she scored every single goal for her team.

Meanwhile, First Colonial came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Chiefs 3-0. Considering First Colonial have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

First Colonial's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Green Run, they moved to 3-10 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Green Run suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to First Colonial in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Stallions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
