Baseball Recap: Cedar Creek's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Cedar Creek was the 10-0 winner over Absegami when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates fell just short of the Braves by a score of 7-6 on Thursday. The loss was the Pirates' first of the season.

Nolan Scholder stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Scholder is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Watkins, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cedar Creek fell to 6-1. As for Absegami, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Creek will take on Mainland Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Absegami, they will challenge Paulsboro at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
