Baseball Recap: LaVille Victorious

LaVille's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let the Knox Redskins get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The game was the first time the Lancers have beaten the Redskins on their field since May 11, 2021.

Brayden Schwitz was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for LaVille: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 7-9 otherwise. Schwitz was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Collin Czarnecki looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

Schwitz wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Karson Quinn, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The win got LaVille back to even at 10-10. As for Knox, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Coincidentally, LaVille and Knox will both be playing Triton the next time they take the field. The Lancers will host the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Redskins will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
