Basketball Game Preview: Centaurus Warriors vs. Wheat Ridge Farmers

The Centaurus Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Wheat Ridge Farmers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Centaurus will be strutting in after a victory while Wheat Ridge will be coming in after a loss.

Centaurus took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 57-46 win over Silver Creek.

Centaurus' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ingrid Lorton, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards. Those 20 points gave Lorton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Clara Halloran, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Wheat Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were outmatched by Evergreen and fell 58-21. While losing is never fun, the Farmers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Cougars are ranked 137th).

Wheat Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Centaurus, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
