Volleyball Game Preview: Bowman Academy Eagles vs. Calumet New Tech Warriors

The Bowman Academy Eagles will head out to take on the Calumet New Tech Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Calumet New Tech took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bowman Academy, who comes in off a win.

Bowman Academy hadn't beaten 21st Century Charter on the road since September 3, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Cougars 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

One reason for the win was Bowman Academy's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-11, 25-6.

Meanwhile, Calumet New Tech came up short against Wheeler on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Calumet New Tech took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-8, 25-13.

Calumet New Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Bowman Academy, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-8.

Bowman Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Calumet New Tech in their previous meeting back in September of 2021. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
