Recap: Sylmar Spartans vs. Van Nuys Wolves
The Sylmar Spartans won the last time they faced the Van Nuys Wolves, and things went their way on Thursday too. Sylmar took down Van Nuys 47-28.
Jacob McDonald had a dynamite game for Sylmar, rushing for 112 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, while also throwing for 182 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Sylmar also got a significant boost from Christopher Ojeda, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.
Marlon Figueroa and Carlos Herrera, Van Nuys certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Figueroa gained 106 total yards and two touchdowns, while Herrera threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes.
Sylmar's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Van Nuys, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Sylmar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Van Nuys will head out on the road to face off against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. One thing working in Kennedy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches.
