Mt. Vernon came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Delta, but Aven Thomas wouldn't allow it. The Eagles blew past the Marauders 40-20 on Friday thanks in part to Thomas, who rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 104.4 rushing yards per game.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Delta's defense and their five sacks. Cole Mynett was especially locked on to Mt. Vernon's QB and sacked him twice.

Although Mt. Vernon took the loss, they still got scores from Mason Meyer, Brenten Johnson, and Evan Privett.

Delta's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Mt. Vernon, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
