Basketball Game Preview: Ridgeway Roadrunners vs. Westview Chargers

The Ridgeway Roadrunners will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Westview Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeway is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Ridgeway was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-39 to White Station.

Despite the loss, Ridgeway got top-tier performance from Demario Johnson, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marjavis Chandler, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westview, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against McKenzie last Monday as Westview made off with a 73-47 win. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Westview's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.3 points. As for Ridgeway, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
