Basketball Recap: South Adams Starfires vs. Woodlan Warriors
South Adams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 63-16 loss at the hands of the Woodlan Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Starfires can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Warriors are ranked 100th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodlan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Anderson, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 14 points along with eight boards and four steals. Brooke Kneubuhler was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.
South Adams' loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Woodlan, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
South Adams will venture away from home to challenge Fort Recovery at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fort Recovery will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something South Adams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Woodlan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodlan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Central Noble likes a good challenge.
