Softball Recap: Damonte Ranch Comes Up Short

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Damonte Ranch was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against the Spanish Springs Cougars, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Damonte Ranch saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Mares, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases. Mares is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Damonte Ranch dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Spanish Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season.
