Basketball Recap: Northport Takes a Loss

Northport was the 48-46 winner over Curlew when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Northport Mustangs lost to the Curlew Cougars at home by a 63-45 margin on Friday.

It was another big night for Annika Baker, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine steals for Curlew. With that strong performance, Baker is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Malia Sonsteng, who went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points.

Northport's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Curlew, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Northport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 38-36 win against Republic on the 25th. Curlew has also already played their next contest, an 88-51 defeat against Inchelium on the 25th.
