After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Spanish Springs finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to the Damonte Ranch Mustangs. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Spanish Springs saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Jacobs, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Jacobs is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Spanish Springs' loss dropped their record down to 19-8-1. As for Damonte Ranch, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15.

Looking ahead, Spanish Springs will host Douglas at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.8, the Tigers 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Damonte Ranch, they will head out to take on Carson at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs are facing the Senators at the right time seeing as the Senators are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
