Preview: Pleasanton Blu-Jays vs. Altoona-Midway Jets
Pleasanton is 8-2 against Altoona-Midway since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Pleasanton Blu-Jays will head out on the road to take on the Altoona-Midway Jets at 5:00 p.m. Pleasanton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 304 points over their last five games.
Pleasanton posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 61-39 margin over Marmaton Valley. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Pleasanton has posted against Marmaton Valley since January 24, 2020.
Meanwhile, Altoona-Midway unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southeast. Altoona-Midway has struggled against Southeast recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was William Stackhouse, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Stackhouse is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Meigs, who scored 15 points along with three steals and three blocks.
Pleasanton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Altoona-Midway, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Everything came up roses for Pleasanton against Altoona-Midway when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 79-47 victory. With Pleasanton ahead 53-33 at the half, the game was all but over already.
