Baseball Recap: Wagoner's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wagoner entered their tilt with Coalgate on Monday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Coalgate Wildcats.

Kolby Gardenhire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Wagoner is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Wagoner's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Hopping, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Stavery James was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Wagoner now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Coalgate, their defeat ended an 18-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Wagoner is taking a road trip to challenge Idabel at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up.
