Baseball Recap: Murray Comes Up Short

The Murray Spartans lost 8-2 to the Mountain Crest Mustangs on Saturday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Murray saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Korver Troxel, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Murray's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mountain Crest, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murray will welcome Deseret Peak at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mountain Crest, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Provo at 3:00 p.m. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
