Softball Game Preview: Kearns Cougars vs. Corner Canyon Chargers

The Kearns Cougars will take on the Corner Canyon Chargers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Kearns fell victim to West Jordan and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 13-0 to the Jaguars. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Kearns saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sky Aguirre, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Aguirre has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Corner Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against Layton, falling 17-0.

Kearns' loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Corner Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-20.

Kearns beat Corner Canyon 8-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2018. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
