Baseball Game Preview: Fike Demons vs. East Wake Warriors

The Fike Demons will square off against the East Wake Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fike might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-1 to West Johnston, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Demons in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Fike got a good showing from Lawson Boykin, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Boykin hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.

At the plate, Fike saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Maddrey, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, East Wake suffered their biggest defeat since March 18th on Friday. They lost 15-4 to South Johnston.

East Wake has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Fike, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
