Preview: Woodward Academy War Eagles vs. Alcovy Tigers
The Woodward Academy War Eagles will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Alcovy Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Woodward Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 213 points over their last three games.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Woodward Academy at home against Forest Park as the squad secured a 78-3 win. The victory was just what Woodward Academy needed coming off of a 87-62 loss in their prior match.
Woodward Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clarke Falconer, who scored 9 points along with 7 steals. Falconer is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lauryn Cooper was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 7 assists.
Meanwhile, Alcovy came up short against Jonesboro on Tuesday and fell 62-52.
The losses dropped Woodward Academy to 2-1 and Forest Park to 0-3.
Everything went Woodward Academy's way against Alcovy in their previous matchup back in January as Woodward Academy made off with a 57-36 win. Will Woodward Academy repeat their success, or does Alcovy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
