Baseball Game Preview: Cutter-Morning Star Eagles vs. Dierks Outlaws

For the first time this season, Cutter-Morning Star will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to face off against the Dierks Outlaws at 5:00 p.m. Cutter-Morning Star has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Cutter-Morning Star came up short against Jessieville on Monday, falling 19-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Dierks had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Mineral Springs by a score of 11-9 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Outlaws have suffered since March 29, 2024.

Peyton Boeckman and Dylan Moore stepped up to the plate in a big way. Boeckman got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI, while Moore got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI. The dominant performance also gave Moore a new career-high in hits (two). Jordan Hill was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

Cutter-Morning Star's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Dierks, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Cutter-Morning Star might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Dierks in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can Cutter-Morning Star avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
