Preview: Ogden Tigers vs. Grantsville Cowboys
Ogden is 0-4 against Grantsville since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ogden Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grantsville Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Ogden will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Grantsville is ranked sixth).
Ogden suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-38 walloping at the hands of Union.
Meanwhile, Grantsville waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 70-34 victory over Ben Lomond. Grantsville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Grantsville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Avery Allred out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Baylee Lowder was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals.
Ogden has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Grantsville, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Ogden might still be hurting after the 51-26 defeat they got from Grantsville in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ogden was down 33-12.
