Basketball Recap: Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Comes Up Short

If Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate was feeling good fresh off their 72-44 takedown of Patel last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Countryside Cougars on Friday. The Phoenix were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate lost, don't look at EMANI BROWN. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points. BROWN continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. TASHANDA MADZVIMBO was another key player, putting up nine points.

Carter Padags continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Countryside, going 7 for 14 en route to 24 points and three steals. Padags' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Corey Perlin, who put up nine points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Countryside, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 80-62 win against Lakewood Ranch on the 27th. As for Countryside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-44 victory against Sports Leadership & Management on the 28th.
