Baseball Recap: Stratford Wins Going Away Against Wando

Stratford had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Wando on Wednesday. Stratford was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Wando. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Stratford let Jachin Davis and Bryce Herpolsheimer run wild. Davis scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Herpolsheimer got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Davis has become a key player for Stratford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tripp Smith, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Stratford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was the third in a row for Stratford, bringing their record up to 5-2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Wando, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
