Recap: Kamiakin Braves vs. Central Valley Bears
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Kamiakin Braves walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Bears on Saturday as they made off with a 64-43 victory. The win was familiar territory for Kamiakin who now have 21 in a row.
Kamiakin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emaunii Smith, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Smith hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrie Herrin, who scored ten points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.
Kamiakin's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points per game. As for Central Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
Kamiakin has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Gonzaga Prep at 5:00 p.m. on February 13th. Gonzaga Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,159 points over their last 18 games. Central Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
