The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Guilford Home Educators in their matchups with Shining Light Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Shining Light Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alik Lewis led the charge by scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. The match was Lewis' tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Kinney, who scored 21 points.
Guilford Home Educators' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Shining Light Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Guilford Home Educators will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Wake on January 8, 2024. Shining Light Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lab University Prep Regional at 4:00 p.m. on December 22nd.
