Football Game Preview: Dolores Bears vs. Sanford Mustangs

Dolores is 0-3 against Sanford since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Dolores' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so Sanford's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Dolores is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 51 points on October 3rd, they were much more limited against Dove Creek on Thursday. They took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Sanford came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Bluejays for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-14 win. With the Mustangs ahead 28-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Dolores' defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Sanford, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Dolores was dealt a bruising 51-17 loss at the hands of Sanford in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
