Soccer Game Preview: Gulliver Prep vs. Archbishop McCarthy

The Gulliver Prep Raiders will challenge the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Gulliver Prep is headed into Tuesday's following a draw, the team's first since November 18. They and Belen Jesuit finished up their game with a 0-0 draw on Monday.

Meanwhile, Archbishop McCarthy's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Cardinal Gibbons by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time the Mavericks couldn't score was back in November of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Archbishop McCarthy now has a losing record at 3-4-2. Gulliver Prep's draw gives them a new season record of 12-2-2.

Gulliver Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Archbishop McCarthy in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, winning 2-0. Will Gulliver Prep repeat their success, or does Archbishop McCarthy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
