Basketball Recap: Garrett Comes Up Short

Garrett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 70-27 loss at the hands of the Westview Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Railroaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 377th, while the Warriors are ranked 35th).

Despite the loss, Garrett still got an impressive performance from Carter Coffman, who went 7-for-12 on his way to 16 points. Javin Bailey also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Garrett's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Westview, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.

Garrett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-41 loss against Lakeland on the 30th. As for Westview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-36 win against Eastside on the 30th.
