Basketball Recap: Community Christian Comes Up Short on the Road Against Palm Grove Christian

Community Christian had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. The contest between the Crusaders and the Palm Grove Christian Gators didn't end well, with the Crusaders falling 73-56. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Palm Grove Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Troyer, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Troyer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Baker, who shot 67% from the field en route to 22 points and five rebounds.

Palm Grove Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Community Christian is set to take on their familiar foe New Jerusalem Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Palm Grove Christian will square off against rival Land O' Lakes Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
