Football Recap: Flatirons Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Flatirons Academy and Limon squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Flatirons Academy had to settle for second. They were dealt a 44-16 defeat at the hands of the Badgers. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Badgers are ranked 33rd).

Although Flatirons Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Caleb Doughty and Zeke Friedman.

Limon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Jaklich led the charge by rushing for 120 yards and four scores on only ten carries. Those 120 rushing yards gave Jaklich a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Camdyn Tacha, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries.

Flatirons Academy dropped their record down to 5-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Limon, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Flatirons Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Limon, they will take on Monte Vista at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Badgers 9.4, the Pirates 8.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
