Preview: Caddo Mills Foxes vs. Wills Point Tigers
Caddo Mills is 4-0 against Wills Point since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Caddo Mills Foxes will be playing at home against the Wills Point Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Caddo Mills will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 45-14, which was the final score in Caddo Mills' tilt against Sunnyvale on Saturday. Caddo Mills was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Although Caddo Mills took the loss, they still got scores from Alfonzo Gonzales and Josh Ivey.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last matchup, Wills Point made sure to put some points up on the board against Ford on Friday. Wills Point walked away with a 39-29 victory over Ford.
Wills Point's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jett Fletcher, who rushed for 133 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 92 yards and a touchdown. Fletcher was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Larandion Dowden, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.
Caddo Mills' loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Wills Point, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Everything came up roses for Caddo Mills against Wills Point when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 41-12 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Wills Point's Tyus Burnett, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 103 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Caddo Mills to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
