Basketball Recap: Long County Blue Tide vs. Appling County Pirates
A win for Long County just wasn't in the cards on Tuesday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They were outmatched by the Appling County Pirates on the road and fell 56-13. The Blue Tide were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.
Shamiah Burnum was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 13 points plus five rebounds. Keniyah White was another key player, earning nine points in addition to five rebounds and two steals.
Long County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Appling County, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long County will square off against Wayne County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Long County is facing Wayne County at the right time seeing as Wayne County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Appling County, they will take on Brantley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brantley County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Appling County surely won't give up without a fight.
