Baseball Recap: J.L. Mann Comes Up Short

J.L. Mann entered their matchup against T.L. Hanna on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Patriots fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

J.L. Mann got a good showing from Reid Holtzclaw, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Holtzclaw has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, J.L. Mann saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Shiffer, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

J.L. Mann's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for T.L. Hanna, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Looking ahead, T.L. Hanna will welcome Dorman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. J.L. Mann will be paying especially close attention to the Yellow Jackets' contest: after the Yellow Jackets faces off against the Cavaliers, they'll take on J.L. Mann again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
