Recap: Tocoi Creek Toros vs. Andrew Jackson Tigers
The Tocoi Creek Toros are still undefeated this season after their contest against the Andrew Jackson Tigers on Thursday, but the Andrew Jackson Tigers came as close as anyone has to beating them. Tocoi Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Andrew Jackson and snuck past 44-42. Given Tocoi Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Andrew Jackson is ranked 152nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tocoi Creek found their leader in underclassman Audrey Beyer, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. Kaitlynn Weaver was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Tocoi Creek's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Andrew Jackson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tocoi Creek won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Beachside at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Beachside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. As for Andrew Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against San Jose Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
