Recap: MacArthur Cardinals vs. Richardson Eagles
The MacArthur Cardinals suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Richardson on the road and fell 74-23. MacArthur has struggled against Richardson recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Richardson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenzie Ponder, who scored 20 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ponder has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tristan Aldridge, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
MacArthur has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season. As for Richardson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. MacArthur will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pearce at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richardson, they will head out on the road to square off against Berkner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkner will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 746th, while Richardson is ranked 259th).
