Football Recap: Jesuit Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Jesuit extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Luke Ortner. The Crusaders came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 28-23 W against the Mountainside Mavericks with plenty of help from Ortner, who rushed for 117 yards and a pair of scores. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Jesuit is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Jesuit's record is now 5-2. As for Mountainside, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Jesuit is set to square off against their familiar foe Southridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Mountainside will take on rival Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
