Basketball Recap: Fostoria's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Fostoria won the last time they faced Rossford, and Alycia Middlebrooks did her part to make sure it happened again. The Fostoria Redmen were the clear victor by a 66-40 margin over the Rossford Bulldogs on Thursday thanks in part to Middlebrooks, who went 12 of 27 on her way to 30 points along with seven assists and five steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lyrique Johnson, who posted seven points and seven boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Rossford lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Scarlett Williams, who put up 16 points. That was a full 40% of Rossford's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Keaghan Mahaffey was another key player, putting up six points along with 12 boards and four blocks.

With the win, Fostoria broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-8. As for Rossford, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Fostoria wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-37 victory against Rossford on the 13th. As for Rossford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-42 win against Ottawa Hills on the 11th.
